Consent Counts At
Creating Change 2007, a group formed to take on the work of decriminalizing
leather/kink/fetish/BDSM (leather). Right now, laws that protect people from
things like battery could be used against those involved in consensual adult
behaviors. What needs to happen is to prevent this from happening while at the
same time not weakening the laws that protect those who are victims of
violence. This may take 12-15 years to become a reality.

Laws by State - this is a good source to begin looking at how various
state statutes alone, or interrelated can impact our lifestyle.
-
Sodomy Laws are often used by law
enforcement to prosecute practitioners of alternative lifestyles. This
excellent site examines sodomy laws state by state.
-
Obscenity Laws
are another area of concern - usually vague, they are often used by law
enforcement to prosecute where no other offense has been committed or can by
proven. This site explores obscenity laws state by state as well as federal.
-
Privacy Laws
are conversely in our favor. This site examines privacy laws on a state by
state basis.
